Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

Every time I taste this Chocolate Smoothie Bowl, I ask myself, how can something that tastes this good be so healthy? While it tastes exactly like a mouth-watering chocolate ice cream, it’s also healthy, vegan, and gluten-free. It’s the perfect 5-minute breakfast and is packed with superfoods, protein, and lots of vitamins.

Until I tried this delicious chocolate smoothie bowl, I was always buying unnecessary chocolate snacks that were unhealthy. Now, every time I start craving a chocolate dessert, this Chocolate Smoothie Bowl is my go-to.

Simple ingredients that nurture your body!

This Chocolate Smoothie Bowl is one of my favorite recipes to prepare for breakfast (or, after the a workout). Who can say that chocolate is not the perfect breakfast, right?

This smoothie bowl is made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, cocoa powder, and avocado. You can also add a protein powder of your choice to make it a protein-packed meal.

It’s always best to use frozen bananas for smoothie bowls for a thick texture. In fact, it will pretty much taste exactly like ice cream. As a vegan, you can always eat ice cream for breakfast without feeling guilty 😉

However, it wouldn’t be complete without a little extra magic. I love topping my smoothie bowl with chia seeds, fresh bananas, chocolate chips, and different types of nuts.

Some other toppings you can add are:

  • Coconut strips
  • Cocoa nibs
  • Granola
  • Peanut butter
  • Reasons
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Flex seeds
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries

How to Make a Chocolate Smoothie Bowl?

Simple is the way to go. Just put everything in the blender and blend it for 2-5 min. The texture you are going for is a thick ice-cream-like consistency (make sure there are no chunks).  Use the blender tamper to help mix everything together. You can vary the thickness by adding some plant milk. If you don’t have plant milk, you can just use ice cubes. However, plant milk will give it a better taste than ice cubes. Then, all there is left to do is to serve it in a nice bowl and add the toppings!
